The Kerygma

Near the beginning of the Gospel of Mark, Jesus enters Jerusalem proclaiming the Good News, the Church calls this moment the Kerygma.  Learn more about this wonderful Greek word and its impact on our lives.

John Paul II, in his 1979 apostolic exhortation Catechesi Tradendae, describes kerygma:  He calls it "the initial ardent proclamation by which a person is one day overwhelmed and brought to the decision to entrust himself to Jesus Christ by faith"
